Technically, Anchorage doesn't get 24 hours of daylight, but this time of year, it doesn't really get "dark"... and because of this, the summer solstice is something to celebrate. One way people in Anchorage celebrate it is by having big parties on top of Flat Top Mountain. Even though the Solstice was on a Tuesday, Ginger agreed to go up with me at Midnight since it was my first Solstice in Anchorage.
As we were watching the weather and trying to decide timing, we decided to go up another "little" peak called Little O'Malley first. That way we definitely would earn ourselves the beer and wine we were carrying up Flat Top.
Here is a view down into the valley between O'Malley and Flat Top. There is a large powerline that runs through there with a trail following them. Powerline Pass is a popular running/walk the dog/biking trail and goes for miles and miles.
On top of Little O'Malley. There are giant mountains behind me, you just can't see them due to the clouds!
Then it was time to go up Flat Top. The large clear area in the bottom of the picture is the saddle and then you can follow the trail and all the people to the summit.
There were so many people! They were having a big party on top too which was fun. Here are some people hanging out playing guitars and singing. There were also people shooting off fireworks etc. etc.
Another fun part was a small plane was doing circles around Flat Top. It was fun watching him fly by etc.

What a great time! If only Katherine had been there... since it was her Birthday!
